I joined the University in January 2024 as a Lecturer in Law. My main research interests are in free speech, judicial reasoning and law and philosophy of language. I mainly teach international human rights, international criminal law, various aspects of public law and legal research skills.

I am primarily interested in supervising projects widely on free speech and speech crimes, as well as the application of philosophy of language to legal issues and judicial reasoning. I am especially interested in theoretical work that connects to practical outcomes, but I welcome all methodological approaches to these topics whether doctrinal, comparative or otherwise.

I may also being able to support projects as second supervisor more broadly within international human rights, and some aspects of international criminal law and domestic public law.

2024

  • On 22 November 2024, Bangor University had the honour of welcoming colleagues from the China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) to celebrate and further strengthen the collaborative relationship between the two institutions. This long-established partnership, founded through the joint Confucius Institute at Bangor University, has fostered significant academic and cultural exchanges over the years.
